Short show but wow can she sing!
I took my wife to Sugar Loaf to see LeAnn. She's a fan, me not so much. While I know of her and a couple of songs she's done I had no idea what to expect so I went with an open mind. Her show lasted a very short hour and ten minutes. It was just her and a solo acoustic guitarist/pianist on stage. LeAnn has a soft voice when speaking as she did a lot in between songs but wow when she goes into song it's like the flood gates open up. Truly a voice gifted from god. This is a very intimate show with story telling, as if she were performing in your living room. She makes it look so naturally easy. Most of today's performers wish they had the voice and stage presence as she does. Very enjoyable, short and sweet.
LeAnn was Great, but concert was disappointing.
This was at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, MI on 7-16-22
LeAnn is a fantastic vocalist & she was on-point all night. Great voice, great interaction with the audience. What was disappointing was the song selection & "band". I know she's coming out with a new album, & she has to sing songs from that....which I believe totaled 3 songs. But it was also supposed to be a concert covering her 20 or 25 years in the Industry. Her "band" was supposed to be 3 members, but the bass player had Covid, so they were down to a percussionist, & guitar player......a 2-member band. That, right away, told me that none of her songs would be like what we're used to hearing, and some fans may like that. The other disappointment was that she only sang for about 70 minutes. I felt cheated. And how can you go to a LeAnn Rimes concert and not hear "Me & Bobby McGee"???? Again, LeAnn was good...but the production should have been better.
She is the real deal in Groton MA
Positives: Hall and stage setup was awesome and comfortable, not a bad view from any seat, well designed. She started on time.
Negatives: Not allowed to take photos or record video, not sure if it was performer demand or building ownership decision. She only played 13 songs. 72 mins she was on stage, talked a lot. She should play 2 hours at a minimum. She has been in the business 25 years, no shortage of songs she could have played. Getting out of the parking lot was insanity 1500 patrons should have had cops directing traffic. Venue should do a lot better. Overall, not impressed with the show for the money I paid for 2nd row seats.
